As far as I’m concerned the great unknown of climate change has been what is the climate sensitivity? Everything else that we’ve been told I’m just fine with. That methane and CO2 are greenhouse gases for example. That uncontrolled emission of them might well lead to problems: that there has been warming since the industrial revolution.
